The demise of legendary director 'Iyakkunar Sigaram' Bharathiraja—who completely revolutionized the course of Tamil cinema by sculpting the raw fragrance of rural soil and the realistic lifestyles of ordinary people onto the silver screen—has deeply shaken the hearts of Tamils. On behalf of the My Jeevan Aid Trust, deep condolences have been expressed over his passing.

Under the guidance of My Jeevan Aid Trust founder Dr. Shibu, the organization's Chennai Manager, Mani, paid respects in person. He went directly to the place where the late director's body was placed, laid a floral wreath, paid his final respects, and recorded the trust's profound grief.

Born in Allinagaram in Theni district, Bharathiraja arrived in Chennai with an insatiable hunger for cinema and evolved into an iconic symbol of Tamil cinema. He holds the unique distinction of taking Tamil cinema out of indoor studio sets and bringing it directly into rural streets through his monumental 1977 debut film 16 Vayathinile. His celebrated films, including Kizhakke Pogum Rail, Puthiya Vaarpugal, Alaigal Oivathillai, Muthal Mariyathai, and Karuthamma, stand as timeless classics untouched by the passage of time.

He brought immense pride to the Tamil landscape, winning the Padma Shri award for his cinematic innovations, alongside 6 National Film Awards, and several Tamil Nadu State Film Awards including Lifetime Achievement honors. Leaving an indelible mark not just as a filmmaker but also as a phenomenal actor, his demise is an irreparable loss to the world of art.

In a condolence message released regarding this, My Jeevan Aid Trust founder Dr. Shibu stated:
